Lutz Pfannenstiel says adieu: In front of 4000-head audience world champion Guido Buchwald carries the famed goalie form the Bavarian Forests in Passau on his shoulders from the field.
After 18 years the journey has terminated his professional career with 4000 watching a globe trotters final stellar performance on Friday evening in the Passauer Dreiflüssestadium ahead of his football retirement and made it a very special goodbye for the 38-year old. Lead by world champion of 1990, Guido Buchwald, the team of Lutz Pfannenstiel’s charity organization which consists of fellow celebrity football companions salute the old goalie who is the only kicker worldwide to have ever played on all six continents. Lutz Pfannenstiel has been goalkeeper on all continents of the world and collected the one or the other title. He has been the globe trotter amongst the football professionals. But now this is it. The goalkeeper terminates his professional career. A world champion and thousands of fans. Now it’s enough with lawn contact – the 38 year old puts his soccer shoes on the wall. And as it is customs of a “global goalie” he does it with a world section testimonial game. The names of his team fellows are impressive as they enter the Passauer Dreiflüssestadium on Friday night: Jonathan Akpoborie, Michel Dinzey, Pavel Kuka, Gary Blisset, Jörg Stiel including old stars such as Manfred Bender, Silvio Meißner or Michael Wiesinger – and a world champion: Guido Buchwald.

Global United FC wins in Passau: A charity game in the Dreiflüssestadium in Passau, Germany had football stars kick for a good cause last night. Global United FC vs 1.FC Passau and the youngsters of an upper league selection of the Bavarian Soccer Association. On the Global United FC team among other things football world champions such as Guido Buchwald or famous TV soap actor Mirko Wallraf. The team was put together by world goal keeper Lutz Pfannenstiel a native Zwieseler. He was was perfectly happy with the charity game: In the end Global United FC won scoring 2:3 against the 1st FC Passau and the BfV-Team Selection.

4000 fans, five goals, one world champion - and the final winner - Mother Nature: An unusual football happening ends with a 3:2 score for „Global United FC“.
No, climate change may cause many bad things in the world. But that Buchwald, Dinzey, Kuka and Akpoborie were fighting for their lead that evening in the Passauer Dreiflüssestadium, was not caused by global warming - but by strong and younger league of adversaries. The fitness negatives however were swept away by the experienced play by former football professionals representing „Global United FC“- starting with world champion Guido Buchwald, former FC Bavaria star Manni Bender, Michael Wiesinger and Dieter Frey. An excellent technical play, One-Touch- football and well weight out physical efforts. „They still have it“, said Edi Kirschner, President of the Club who celebrated its 100 years of existence, the 1. FC Passau. He himself had been professional player himself in the former champions.

World Champion kicks in Passau: A fresh charity-soccer-kick off in the Dreiflüssestadium ends 3:2 for the Global United FC team.
Stars around Guido Buchwald scored three wonderful goals in the first half against the not at least disappointing upper league 1. FC Passau. Three terrific hits by Markus "Toni" Sailer/2 and Geert Brusselers. The young Passau team however held well against the professional stars, however were not able to convert the tree grand opportunities against the excellent parades of Lutz Pfannenstiel.
