GUFC launches #freedom2play campaign with online summit

Global United FC kicked off the #freedom2play campaign in Namibia in cooperation with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation Sub-Saharan Africa.The aim is to develop girls’ and women’s football with a focus on Southern Africa.We kicked off with the #freedom2play Women Football Experience Share Online Summit with registrations from over 17 countries. Experts from associations and clubs in Namibia and South Africa shared their experiences around women’s football – from the launch of organised football by Hall of Fame member Fran Hilton-Smith to World Cup participant Kaylin Swart and Namibian women’s football veterans Jacqueline Gertze, Diina Shituula (both NFA) and Salome Iiyambo (FIFA). It was complemented by the presentation of our ambassador Leonie Pankratz, who has gained experience in various European leagues.
