Through a contact that was made at the ITB in Berlin and true to our motto “We love football. We love our planet.”, we presented a sustainable football development project in Zanzibar/Tansania, which – in addition to the development of local talents – is supposed to include school education in its own boarding school. At the press conference at Spice Island Ressort, Cesare Prandelli, national coach Italy and new member of Global United FC, and Tilmann Meuser, honorary member of Global United FC, presented – amongst others – Khamis A. Said (Chairman Zanzibar National Sports Council) and Gerd Winkel (Director of Government Zanzibar Tourism Office) with a complete set of youth football shirts with Global United branding. In the future, trainers – members of Global United FC, of course – will be involved as youth trainers on-site on a quarterly basis. Prior to that, a charity match is planned to be held in Stone Town. We are still at a planning stage with this.
